Normally, the Tri-City ValleyCats conduct their annual National Anthem auditions at Crossgates Mall.
But most of the mall is closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, that won’t prevent the ValleyCats from conducting auditions.
The ValleyCats announced Saturday that they will have online auditions for anthem singers. Fans interested in auditioning can submit their unedited video here until April 15. The top three finalists’ videos will be shared online on April 20. Fans will be invited to vote for their favorite performance, with the top vote recipient having the opportunity to sing at a ValleyCats game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium this summer.
Video submissions be no longer than 90 seconds. The contest is open to all soloists, groups, and instrumentalists of any age. The ValleyCats encourage all groups to utilize a group video conference service to record, and to be sure to follow social distance directives.
The ValleyCats are scheduled to play their home opener June 24 against the Williamsport Crosscutters.
