BROADALBIN - A Broadalbin woman was arrested this week for allegedly forging more than $9,000 in checks, state police said.

Michelle M. Mustico, 34, was charged Tuesday with one count of third-degree grand larceny and 10 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, all felonies, state police said.

Mustico is accused of cashing the forged checks from a single victim without the victim's knowledge, state police said.

The victim discovered the theft after reviewing a bank account and finding multiple checks had been made out to Mustico and cashed, troopers said.

Mustico was processed and released to appear in court later.
