HIGH NOTES: Athletic trainers donation, honoring 4H seniors

Spotlighting the good being done in our communities

In Schenectady County and the state of New York, As frontline workers, the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association (NYSATA) is donating $7,500 to Feeding New York State and $7,500 to Health Research, Inc. (HRI) to support COVID-19 relief efforts throughout the state. There are 24 NYSATA members in Schenectady County. With this donation, residents suffering from food insecurity due to the pandemic will have the access they need to feed themselves and their families. The donation to Health Research, Inc. will fund direct expenses associated with the response activities. In addition to monetary contributions, New York athletic trainers have stepped up to help overburdened healthcare systems amidst the pandemic. They are using their skills as healthcare professionals to aid understaffed hospitals and healthcare organizations in multiple ways, including screening, telehealth and infrastructure.

In Saratoga Springs, members of Saratoga County 4-H and 4-H Teen Council are celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of 4-H seniors by delivering yard signs to 30 seniors throughout the county. The seniors  will also be recognized with a 4-H Senior Spotlight on the Saratoga County 4-H Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SaratogaCounty4H. Many of these members have spent more than a decade as 4-H members, and several have taken leadership roles in their clubs and the 4-H program as a whole.
