State Police: Six charged with DWI in Fulton, Montgomery counties; One driver had three kids in car

FULTON COUNTY - State police arrested six drivers separately on drunken driving charges recently, including one woman who had three children in her car, troopers said.

Five of those arrested were charged in Fulton County, one in Montgomery County. The arrests took place Thursday night through Saturday night, state police said.

The driver found with the children in her car was stopped for speeding in Mayfield shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday night, state police said.

Crystal D. Evans, 33, of North Creek, failed field sobriety tests and a breath sample later tested at 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Evans was charged with Leandra's Law felony driving while intoxicated and three counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. She was issued an appearance ticket and release to appear in court later.

Also arrested on drunken driving charges were:

Scott G. Fordyce, 63, of Northampton, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated just before 10 p.m. Friday in Northville. State police responded to a report of a minor hit-and-run  accident at the Stewart's there. Troopers stopped him, determined he was intoxicated, but he refused to provide a breath test, state police said.

Ryan M. McLaine, 36, of Gloversville, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated after a stop on a traffic infraction just before midnight Thursday in Johnstown, state police said. His blood alcohol content tested at 0.09 percent, troopers said.

Eric J. Haight, 40, of Northville, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He was stopped for traffic violations in Northville just before 6 p.m. Friday. His blood alcohol content tested at 0.09 percent, troopers said.

K.C. H. Hersey, 24, of Amsterdam, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after a stop for a traffic infraction in Amsterdam late Friday, state police said. Hersey's blood alcohol content tested at 0.15 percent, troopers said.

Andrew M. Brown, 22, of Gloversville, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated just before 6 p.m. Saturday after a stop for a traffic infraction in Gloversville, state police said. Brown's blood alcohol content tested at 0.12 percent.

Each of the five others charged were also issued appearance tickets and released to appear in court later, state police said.
