The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall and WEXT have announced that the first show in their Drive-In Concert Series will feature indie rockers Jocelyn & Chris on Thursday, July 9.

They will take the stage at 8 p.m. at the Jericho Drive-In in Glenmont, and as a bonus, all concert goers may stay for a 9:30 showing of the 2019 movie, “Yesterday.”

“This global pandemic has hit the concert industry hard,” said Jon Elbaum, the Music Hall’s executive director. “We had to cancel or postpone the last half of our 2020 season, it was devastating. How can we continue to present live music, to give people that shared, communal experience, when we aren’t allowed to be within six feet of a fellow music fan?

“When drive-ins were cleared to re-open, it became an obvious solution,” Elbaum said. “We are thrilled to present again, and to give people an opportunity to enjoy a night out with live music, and a bonus movie. We’ve all missed concerts”

Fort Plain natives Jocelyn & Chris have placed three consecutive singles in the Billboard Triple A Top 40, brought two records to No. 1 on the Jambands Top 30, and recently appeared on  NBC’s “Today” show.

The siblings, both graduates of Harvard University, have balanced college with performances coast to coast and recordings featuring special guests G. Love, Gov’t Mule’s Danny Louis and Cory Wong of Vulfpeck. They’ve been featured at Sundance, Summerfest, SXSW, and Mountain Jam Music Festival, to name a few.

Due to Covid-19, social distancing will be strictly enforced for the performance. As of today, that means patrons attending must stay in their cars. They may open their windows to listen live, and they will also have the option of tuning in to stream it on their car stereo systems.

If attendees need to exit their vehicles for any reason, they must wear a mask. A list of the official rules for attending may be found online at www.jerichodrive-in.com.

Tickets, priced at $50 per car, are available for online purchase at www.troymusichall.org starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11.
