MILTON  - An Amsterdam was found to have counterfeit cash this past week, Saratoga County Sheriff's officials said.

Jaciel J. Santos, of Amsterdam, was charged Monday with one count of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony.

Santos is accused of possessing the counterfeit cash while being booked at the Saratoga County Jail on an unrelated matter, officials said.

Santos was arraigned and released to return to court later. A release did not detail why Santos was originally being booked into the jail.
