MOHONASEN TOP 10

PARENTS: Jill and David Phillips COLLEGE OR OTHER PLANS: I am attending University at Buffalo and majoring in computer science

AFTER COLLEGE: Either finding a job or going to grad school for my masters, but I haven’t really planned that far ahead yet

WHAT’S IS LIKE GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MIDDLE OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC: It’s definitely disappointing that I don’t get to experience all of the senior activities and moments that I’ve been waiting for for years. Everyone I know has been super supportive however, and my school has been trying to make the most of it and give us as close to the real experience as they can.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR CLASSMATES THIS SEMESTER: I’ve realized how much I actually liked school. I know everyone likes to complain about how much work it is, but school gave me structure in my life. It was a place for me to go and be social, and allowed me to see my favorite people almost every day.

WHAT IS A MEMORY OF YOUR SENIOR YEAR YOU’LL NEVER FORGET: There isn’t one particular memory that sticks out to me, but I’m super grateful for all of the little moments that I’ve had with my friends throughout the year. I know there’s been countless times when we were together just being dumb and making each other laugh.

WHAT WILL YOU MISS MOST ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL: I’m definitely going to miss hanging out in Mr. Veeder’s room. He’s my favorite teacher, and media arts in his room was always the most fun class. I always seemed to be in his room, and whether it was during class, lunch, or after school, I always felt welcomed, comfortable, and surrounded by friends when I was in there.

WHAT’S IN YOUR MUSIC PLAYER: The Beatles are my favorite, but I’ll listen to any classic rock or oldies music.

BEST PART ABOUT GRADUATING: Getting to leave my hometown and live and experience someplace completely new

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU: My closest friends- Ash, Eric, Nico, Charles, and Emily.
