COLONIE - An early Thursday traffic stop on Wolf Road in Colonie led to the discovery of a "ghost gun" and three arrests, Colonie police said.

The stop happened just before 12:30 a.m. in front of 240 Wolf Road after a town officer spotted the driver committing several traffic violations, police said.

The driver, identified as Jaquan J. Sams, 31, of Albany, was found to have a suspended driver's license and several bags of marijuana that he gave the officer during the interview, police said.

Another small amount of cocaine, also belonging to Sams, was found near the driver's seat, police said.

A search of the vehicle then uncovered the "ghost gun," a gun that had no serial number or markings and was further defaced to prevent identifying its origins, police said.

Police soon determined the gun belonged to passenger Zaquawn D. Graves, 24, of Albany, police said.

Another passenger, identified as Belinda J. Caravella-Taylor, 30, of Albany, was found to have three MDMA pills and a small amount of marijuana, police said.

Graves was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony. Sams and Caravella-Taylor were each charged with misdemeanor drug possession and violation marijuana possession. Sams was also charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation.

Sams and Carvella-Taylor were each released on appearance tickets, Graves was held for arraignment, police said.
