ALBANY - A Gansevoort man has been arrested, accused of transporting child pornography by email, U.S. Attorney's officials said.

Thomas Kopach, 33, was arrested this week and charged with transporting child pornography, officials said.

Kopach is accused of knowingly emailing a video in February depicting the sexual abuse of a minor, officials said.

If convicted, he would face at least 15 years in federal prison and up to 40 years.

Kopach was arraigned and ordered held pending a detention hearing next week.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Homeland Security Investigations Albany Office at 518-220-2129.
