Irish eyes are smiling and Irish lips are laughing during the 1982 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Albany on March 13, 1982.

We have smiling Irish faces, parade people, the North Albany Limericks, bagpipers and a soccer goalie. The latter is Milan Pfister of Mohonasen High School - who will always remember St. Patrick's Day!

Milan Pfister takes a peek at parents Robert and Janelle Pfister of Schenectady on St. Patrick's Day 2000. Milan, then one day old, had received a handmade green cap and shamrock bib from Marcia O'Bierne, a registered nurse (and an Irishwoman) at St. Clare's Hospital. Milan will celebrate her 18th birthday Saturday; she is a senior at Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam and a star soccer goalie.

Irish celebrations begin Friday night in the Capital Region. Albany's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade will begin Saturday at 2 p.m.
