SARATOGA SPRINGS — Farmers Hardware is slated to bring the Impossible Burger to the Capital Region on Thursday.

The burger, which was first released in New York City in 2016, is completely plant-based but has the taste and texture of a beef burger.

Impossible Foods, a California-based company that created the burger, combined water, wheat protein, coconut oil, and potato protein to make the burger.

The company has only just started to release the burger to restaurants around the country.

A launch party for the Impossible Burger at 6:30 p.m. Thursday has sold out, but a second seating has been added for 7 p.m. at the restaurant at 35 Maple Ave.

Tickets are available for $20 and include the burger, fries and a beer.
