ROTTERDAM - I've been sharing photos of my boy Thacher on my Gazette Twitter and Facebook pages for all of the last 13 months. (He's 13 months today!)

I mean, how could I not? Just look at these photos.

Well, I thought I'd share another photo from Thursday. My wife took this one and it has to be the coolest scene.

It's of a New York State trooper taking the time to stop and fill the tires on our garden cart at a Rotterdam Stewart's, as our boy Thacher in his blue sun hat looks on, all after my wife initially had trouble with the air pump. She did not get the trooper's name.

Here's the backstory from my wife, which she shared on Facebook Thursday afternoon:

"Steve gave me a garden cart for my birthday that I’ve been using to take Thacher for walks," she wrote. "The tires were severely flat so we took a walk to Stewart’s to fill them up. The pump was being uncooperative and making it difficult for me to inflate the tires. A nice NYS Trooper came over and helped fill all the tires. Thacher was very curious about the whole thing."

She added later via text message: "It was pretty cool. He absolutely insisted on helping."

And so the trooper helped. He got the pump to work, filled the tires and everyone, Thacher included, went on their way.
