The University at Albany men’s basketball program announced Monday that Ty Conyers has been promoted to become the Great Danes’ director of operations.

Conyers was UAlbany’s video coordinator last season.

“I’m extremely grateful to continue to work for the men’s basketball program at UAlbany,” Conyers said in a press release. “Working for my alma mater is a great opportunity and I look forward to our continued success.”

Conyers earned an undergraduate degree from UAlbany in 2014 and a master’s degree in 2015.

Conyers previously served as the team’s head manager for four seasons. He also was an assistant coach for Queens College women’s basketball during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.

“I am excited to promote Ty to director of basketball operations,” UAlbany head coach Will Brown said. “He understands our program and has a tireless work ethic. I expect that he will continue to have a positive impact on our program.”

Conyers replaces David Steckel.
