Schenectady, of all places, was named to a top-10 list of best cities for singles in New York state. Nope, not a joke. It's Valentine's Day, not April Fools.

Homesnacks.net, which clearly has the best PR team in the biz, ranked the best 10 cities for singles based on: population density; percent of population that’s male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better); percent of households with kids; median age; and number of unmarried people.

Schenectady ranked sixth on this list, with Ithaca taking the top spot and Troy in second. Albany placed seventh.
