For the longest time, Stacy DeMeo peppered her husband, Mark, with one question: “Can we look at the plans again?” The “plans” were the blueprints, the drawings, the pages ripped out of catalogues detailing their dream house.
Stacy and Mark DeMeo stand on the back deck of their home on the outskirts of Saratoga Springs. The DeMeos bought the land in 2000, but it took another five years before they were able to finish and move into their dream home.
The DeMeos’ home sits at the edge of an old corn field on Saratoga’s West Side. “There are all kinds of animals,” Stacy says. “Fox, deer. Just the other day I saw three foxes rolling around out there.”
An open circular staircase dominates the foyer, rising above the main living space below.

Stacy DeMeo designed their kitchen, which features marble countertops and a porcelain-tile floor.
