Snow in January puts smiles on some faces. And skis, skates and snowboards on some feet. And sleds under some bottoms. In 1993, early winter snowfalls attracted skiers and snowboarders to hills; skaters made quick slides and slashes over new ice. People crowded onto sleds and surveyed winter wonderlands. Some even thought it was a good time for a run.
